For over five decades, Christy Brown has been Louisville’s tireless champion for “A New Vision of Health”—the idea that a community only thrives when the full ecosystem—environment, culture, spiritual, economic, nutritional, intellectual, physical and psychological—is healthy together.
As the co-founder of the Envirome Institute, Christy bridges the gap between scientific research and soul-stirring activism. Whether she’s pioneering urban health campuses, celebrating spiritual diversity through the Festival of Faiths, supporting sustainable farming locally with Kentucky’s Berry Center, or serving as a founding board member for the UK-based Sustainable Food Trust in Wales, her mission is simple: planting seeds for a more resilient world.
A proud mother of three and grandmother of nine, Christy believes that community building is the ultimate long-term investment. She invites us all to participate in and advocate for a healthier, more connected Kentucky.
