Dr. Jacqueline J. Lewis is an author, activist, preacher and public theologian whose work advances racial justice, inclusion and transformative love. An ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), Jacqui has served as senior minister of Middle Church in New York City since 2005, leading a vibrant multiracial and multifaith community committed to justice, spirituality, the arts and social change.
A nationally recognized speaker and advocate, Jacqui addresses issues including racial equity, gender justice, LGBTQ+ inclusion, economic justice and peacebuilding. She has been featured on NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, PBS and NPR, and her work has been highlighted by The New York Times, The Washington Post and other major media outlets.
Jacqui is the author of several books, including Fierce Love, The Power of Stories, Ten Essential Strategies for Becoming a Multiracial Congregation and The Just Love Story Bible. She also hosts the podcast Love. Period. Through her preaching, writing and public leadership, Jacqui continues to inspire communities to build a more just and compassionate world.
