Dr. Lewis Brogdon is executive director of JustFaith Ministries, where he leads efforts to form, educate and mobilize faith communities for justice, relationship-building and faithful public witness.
A respected scholar, author and speaker, Lewis is recognized for his work on African American religion and the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. His writing and teaching explore questions of power, allegiance and the moral condition of American public life. He has spoken at the United Nations Permanent Forum for People of African Descent, the Vatican and institutions across the United States and abroad.
Lewis has served in leadership and teaching roles at Simmons College of Kentucky, Claflin University, Bluefield University and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He has helped establish two Black Church Studies programs and taught internationally in Jerusalem, Haiti, Oxford and the Bahamas. He is the author of several books, including Hope on the Brink and The Gospel Beyond the Grave, and brings a theologically rich and pastorally grounded voice to faith-rooted justice and social transformation.
