Gerardo Abboud

Gerardo Abboud was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he was educated as an engineer and worked as a financial analyst at Ford before he made a dramatic life change. In 1970, he traveled to India and Nepal where he stayed until 1985, studying and practicing Tibetan Buddhism. Gerardo has been translating from Tibetan to English and Spanish for many lamas, specifically serving as main translator to His Holiness Dalai Lama since 1992 during his visits to Latin America. He is the head and resident teacher of the Dongyuling Tibetan Buddhist Center in Argentina, established in 1986, alternating with his teachings in Mexico, USA, Canada and Europe.
